Yes: Most home pregnancy tests are highly accurate once you have missed your first period.  Follow the instructions closely and use your first morning urine.  It also helps for a more accurate method to collect the urine in a disposable paper cup and dip the test strip inside for the prescribed time vs holding the strip in the urine stream.  Refrain from alcohol and cigarettes until you know for sure.

Probably positive: It's probably positive. The test checks for the Beta subunit of HCG, and it doesn't cross react with other hormones. It sounds like you are pregnant.

Accepted Answer

Yes: Certain medications such as phenothiazine can interfere with test results. Women receiving hCG therapy to treat a luteal phase defect or other fertility problem should consult their doctor as to accuracy of home pregnancy tests and when testing should be performed. Occasionally urine can be contaminated with blood or gross amounts of protein leading to inaccurate results.

Pregnancy test: Can other substances, such as medications or alcohol, interfere with the results of a home pregnancy test? 
Most medications, including birth control pills and antibiotics, do not interfere with pregnancy test results. The only meds that could cause a false positive are fertility meds containing derivatives of hcg. But no meds, of which I am aware, can cause false negative (i.e. Test neg but preg).

Some anti-anxiety medications
Antipsychotics
Some antiseizure drugs
Parkinson’s disease medications
Diuretics (“water pills”)
Antihistamines
Methadone
Antinausea medications

HCG: There are some medications that can cause a positive pregnancy test and there are some medical conditions that can also turn a positive pregnancy test without actually being pregnant. Please see your obgyn asap.
