No. No new pathways.: When a woman swallows semen or sperm, her body just treats it as food (a small snack). It has no effect on her body, so if she shows some changes, it is merely by coincidence. However, life is never that simple. During the process of obtaining that semen, she might also obtain various viruses, bacteria, ureaplasma, etc..., from he who is the source of the semen. So, swallower beware.

Maybe Bad news: The thing that i would be worried about most is that the doctor removed too much normal ovarian tissue and took out a lot of your eggs. when you remove a cyst in someone who may want children in the future, you must fully separate the cyst from the normal tissue around it or it can send someone into menopause or harm their ovaries. would see a specialist right away ti get tested

: You may want to talk with your gynecologist more about the possible cause of the ovarian cyst, so it could be avoided. The pills including plan B have hormones in them that have effects on various organs including the ovary. You could also have your husband or partner take precautions to spare you the dangers of hormonal contraceptives. You may also consider non hormonal contraceptives.

Delay common: Menstrual period delays are common involving ovarian surgeries of up to 3 weeks past the next expected date of the menses. The ovary is the site of many hormones that control the cycle and surgery interrupts the production. If you are not on a secure method of contraception and sexually active, run a pregnancy test.

Fine: You'll be fine.  You probably won't be on any pain meds at all, assuming no complications with your surgery.  Most important, because you're 42, is just to make sure that you prevent any blood clot by moving around frequently.  Get up, if you can, every hour or so on your plane ride for circulation.  Check out exercises you can do with your legs while sitting on plane to prevent blood clot.

Yes: Spotting is normal and common after surgery to remove an ovarian cyst.  During the surgery usually an instrument is placed on the cervix so the uterus can be moved to get to the cyst, and that can cause a few days of light bleeding.  Occasionally the stress of surgery can cause irregular bleeding.

Unrelated : There is no relationship between weight loss, weight gain and having an ovarian cyst or having a cyst removal. If you have had a removal and then lost weight the weight loss is a consequence of less caloric intake or increase in calorie burning.

Not long: I tell most patients, as soon as they feel like it.  Usually 7-14 days or so.  Depends though on your surgery type and would go on the recommendations of your physician.

Yes: During reproductive age cysts are very common. Most women would have something considered a cyst at least once per year but would never know unless an x-ray test was performed due to pain.  Often though the pain is completely separate from the cyst. The follicle (a cyst) that is the growing egg each month grows to 2-3 cm and ruptures each month. Cyst rupture is normal!  cysts unusually cause pain.
