went to the dr on monday with heat on my leg,pelvic pain& sore thro. he prescribed cifran,bemetrazole, adco prolief&prednisone. now i hav flu symptom?

Pelvic pain: "Heat on leg" and "pelvic pain" may be due to disease not treatable with the medications mentioned.  If leg and pelvic pain persist, see your gyn physician for appropriate testing.  Occasional leg vein clots may cause pain, and pelvic pain can be a result of infection or endometriosis, and other ailments, so it is best to make certain what the cause might be.

my mom has a sore leg she is on warfarin. burning pain was bruised diabetic on prednisone?

Watch out: For the stomach when on Prednisone and warfarin, its eay to get an ulcer so make sure she is using something to prevent ulcers and stay away from nsaids like asa or aleve (naproxen). The sore leg may be nothing but soreness. Is it swollen? Can she walk on it? Does it get worse after aleking a prolonged distance? It may be nothing or it may be something; so other medical issues i wouldnt blow it off, call pcp.

Yes.: High dose prednisone can cause some skin changes, including thinning and sensitivity.  It can rarely cause muscle pain, though statins more likely cause, if he is on one of them.

how many dosages of prednisone does it take before my leg from sciatica will feel better - i'm on a 6 day prescription ?

Maybe 1, maybe none: There is no "correct dose for use of steroids for nerve root pain. I prefer Medrol (methylprednisolone) dose pak but Prednisone is ok. Expect at least 5 or 6 days of treatment to be needed--maybe 2 weeks. Steroids long term are very risky & are never first-line treatment of sciatica. Some people never respond to steroids.

why is it that when i had to take prednisone that the swelling in my legs  go down, and look normal, despite  comment prednisone cause swelling?

That depends...: Why were you prescribed prednisone? Not knowing anything about the illness for which the medicine was prescribed, or what the medical history of the person taking it is, no doctor could give you any kind of meaningful statement here. Prednisone is a very widely used drug for a number of medical conditions, most of them involving inflammation, but not all. Try asking again with more background.

i'm almost done with my week of taking prednisone---today i've developed some spasming in my side and legs--should i be concerned? what causes this?

on 20 mg prednisone x 2weeks for flare up of undiff ctd.past 2 days, have bad l quadricep pain & stiffness so bad i walk with a limp.leg give walking.

Need to be evaluted: Steroids can cause muscle atrophy weakness and tendinitis, some time just rest and taking it easy will help the pain but if it does not get better you may need further test to diagnose the problem. In the mean time you can try some ice or heat alternatively to see if it helps good luck.

Need MD evaluation: Prednisone can cause fluid retention, but not lymphedema.  Lymphedema is due to obstruction of the lymphatic channels in the legs and is a hard, "brawny" edema. The fluid retention from prednisone usually "pits" when you press your thumb into the swelling.  You have a complicate medical history; edema needs to be evaluated by your physician.

Yes: Leg swelling, definitely from fluid accumulation; abdominal swelling - from fat accumulation or a GI perforation.
