ASK your OB: Your OB should have already given u instructions regarding that, the usual time to wait is until after your post partum check so your OB can make suree verything is ok which is at 5-6 weeks after delivery.

Maybe normal: Whether you have a c-section or a vaginal delivery, it can take up to 6 weeks for the uterus to heal and stop bleeding. Bleeding can stop and start during that time. Most doctors say 6 weeks for vaginal intercourse after a delivery. But usually you get a post partum exam around that time, and the doctor then gives you a "go ahead" if everything is healed. I'm not surprised you had pain.

There : There is a possibility that you ovulated, and with ovulation, there is a chance for pregnancy. The only was to be sure is to take a home pregnancy test or have testing done in your doctor's office. 
The current recommendations for becoming pregnant after a c-section is approximately 18 months. This time allows the uterus to heal and become strong again. If you do get  pregnant before that time, then you are at risk for delivering a premature baby or low birth weight baby, or experincing uterine rupture (most commonly after a trial of vaginal delivery).
There are other factors involved in this risk (type of c-sec you had, anemia present after first c-sec.) your doctor will be able to give you a more definitive answer about your individual risk based on these things and others.

Talk to Dr: At 5 weeks there is some concern with bad cramps &amp; nausea &amp; overall feeling badly, so definitely contact your Dr who did the C-section.  An infection (usually have fever but not always) is possible, or some retained placental tissue causing recurrent bleeding. You may need a repeat examination &amp; possible ultrasound &amp; other testing to be sure

Many options: If you have a familiar clotting disorder then pregnancy is much more high risk than birth control. Consider getting tested to see if you are a carrier of these genetic disorders. Progesterone only methods such as Skyla, Mirena (levonorgestrel) and Nexplanon are still options. A hormone free Paragard copper IUD is another. You could also use condoms as an option.

May be period: Based on the time line you have given then this may be your first period. Often the first few periods are a little off after having a baby. It is time for you to be seen by your obgyn for your 6 week post partum exam. Schedule a visit where you can discuss birth control and methods to help regulate your period

Maybe, maybe not: It might not  be normal if there was a small piece of placenta remaining inside the uterus which is being ejected with the clots. Ask you OB MD to examine you if this continues as infection can occur if there is more materiel left  behind.l
