Yes: Tampon can "get lost"in the posterior fornix.Problem is not that cervix is "exposed"to sperm but it will begin to smell bad and also become a small risk of infection,including a very rare(but life-threatening) condition called toxic shock syndrome. It is best to go to your gyn doctor and have it removed. If you are worried about being pregnant get a pregnancy test.Best wishes.

Polycystic ovary ?: Cysts are present in both ovaries, but most represent failed ovulation and do not rupture to release the egg.  This can occur on both sides. If "polycystic ovarian syndrome" (PCOS) is diagnosed, there are generally no "regular" periods, and the ovaries can become distended (swollen) , which causes pain.  See your gyn provider for treatment.

Usually : Usually it is possible with a speculum to get a good look at this part of the body. Some people have anatomy that makes it difficult but in most cases it's fairly simple for an experienced gynecologist.

Most likely: adjustments in the speculum should allow a gynecologist to see the area of concern.  Your GYN might need to palpate the area as well with a bimanual exam

: Some blood may be in those areas but they are not filled because blood should come out by gravity.

Partner: Do you have a partner?  If so he or she can use their finger in a sweeping motion to remove it.  If not, it may be safest to have it removed by a clinician.  Retained tampon &gt; 24hrs can increase risk for serious infection.

Irrigation/ sweep: Soft contact lenses can get stuck or can tear, and pieces can be stuck inside the conjunctival fornices. These pieces usually will work themselves out, but occasionally irrigation with an eye wash stream, sweeping the fornices with a pre-moistened q-tip after topical anesthetic and/or jeweler's forceps can remove the pieces. The eye doc will flip the eyelid to better visualize as well.
