Won't cause clots: I don't think that it will cause clots, but the blood count is high and B12 is usually elevated. Why take the folate (folic acid) or b12?

No: B12, folate nor iron would make polycythemia worse. You should  consult a hematologist if yo have polycythemia.

Need values: What is your hemoglobin and what is your RBC count?
However, with a normal RBC count, it is unlikely that you have polycythemia.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

To the extent that: P vera would be associated with increased rbc turnover, a modest increase in bili is possible.  However, the disease is one of proliferation more than destruction, so if the bili is quite high we need to evaluate.

Elevated?: "Elevated" means different things to different people. Lab tests come back with a result value, that can be compared to a "reference range." The "reference range" is not a "normal range" even though people use the terms alike. The reference range means 95% of the healthy people of that age group get results inside that range; and 5% of normal, healthy people get their results outside that range.

Stress?: Stress doesn't cause polycythemia. Being dehydrated is a common cause. If your Hgb/Hct is only slightly elevated, stop worrying -- reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthy folks fall outside. If it's well above, consider a workup for the causes, including a variant hemoglobin and a subtle right-to-left shunt.
