You can try: hydrocortisone cream 1%. You can get this over the counter, and benadryl (diphenhydramine) for the itching. If this doesn't work, you may need an oral steroid, so see your doctor to get it prescribed. Hope this helps!

Postinflammatory: Skin can often turn light colored in areas where someone had an allergic reaction like poison ivy.  This is called "postinflammatory hypopigmentation".  This is usually not scarring and will resolve.

Poison ivy: After removing your clothes and washing your face, you will need to be seen by urgent care or walk in clinic.  You can then be evaluated and given a prescription for topical and oral anti-inflammatory agents, usually corticosteroids, that help control this disturbingly itchy rash.  Also want to make sure that your eyes are not involved.  Go to the doctor, rather than wait and let it get worse.

In some individuals this could be direct contact or through burning of yard debris that includes poison ivy plants. In this case the oil is air born and hence the facial contact and rash.
