i take 12.5mg hydrochlorothiazide for bp. missed 2 doses & got pitting edema in my legs, one worse than the other, and my fingers felt tight. i think it's from missing - never had it before, and good echocardiogram 6 months ago. should i be worried?

: Hydrochlorothiazide dose of 12.5 mg does not have any significant diuretic effect so I truly doubt that edema will develop after missing 25 mg of this medication. However, you should not worry much for now, just resume Hctz and be cautious with both fluid and salt intake for at least a couple days. If edema persists or gets worse, you should see your doctor.

Need physical exam: To be sure, but it could be a brachial plexus injury. You would need a thorough history and physical exam to be sure, but that is a possible cause. Any compression? Masses? Neck issues? I would check these things and be ready to discuss them with your physician as well.

Burn Home Remedies: Run cool tap water over the burn for 10 minutes.

Use cool cloths on burned areas.

Apply soothing lotions that contain Aloe Vera to burned areas to relieve pain and swelling.

Skin lotions, such as Vaseline Intensive Care or Lubriderm.

When a first-degree burn or minor second-degree burn is 2 to 3 days old, use the juice from an aloe leaf on the burn area.

Doctor can examine: Lumps in the armpit skin of a young adult can be due to ingrown hairs or blocked oil (sebaceous) glands. Occasionally, they are blocked pores, filling up with dead skin cells. If a lump hurts, it may be infected and would need antibiotics or need to be cut open by a doctor, depending on how it looks. Lumps deeper in the armpit may be enlarged lymph nodes, which can be infection or rarely cancer.

Arm pit mass: This mass can be from the skin, but the larger concern is that it is an enlarged lymph node. The ultrasound may try to distinguish between the two, but this is something that needs close follow up. If you were ever a smoker I would have ordered a CT chest. Speak to your doctor.
