Concern: If you are having a tight chest and pins and needles down your arms, is this also accompanied by shortness of breath or difficulty breathing and/or headache and dizziness? Irritation of nerves: Most commonly they are caused by nerve irritation.  Nerve irritation or pinching, can occur from lack of circulation which is what you get in your legs when you sit in one position too long for example.  Diabets can affect circulation and nerves which can cause "pins and needles."  you can never go wrong by getting a good clinical/doctor exam to detrmine your cause.

You may have arthiti: You may have arthritis, either inflammatory or degenerative.  Barometric pressure is intimately linked with aches and pains with people who have rheumatic disease. Joe hollander, md, at univ. Of penn. Showed this fact to be true in the early fifties. As far as needles and pins  anda twisting feeling  we'd have to discuss this for more precise ideas about location and type of dysthesias you have.

Leg neuralgia: Not all pins and neesles in the legs are due to pinched nerves in the back, especially when symmetrical (both legs). Your descriptive sounds more like a peripheral neuropathy, due to damage to or inflammation of nerves. Need to look for diabetes, low thyroid or nerve disorders. Your doctor will recommend you have nerve conduction studies (NCS) by neurology and probably a CT of the lumbar spine.
