Cyst or abscess: correct.  don't pick it or break it.  without seeing it would be difficult to diagnose.  it could be a cyst or a pus collection called an abscess.  important questions to know would be is it draining, is it red, warm and painful?  is it hard and not moveable? please go get it evaluated in person.

Cream not ointment: Ye you can use warm compresses and any 1% hydrocortisone OTC cream rather than an ointment.

Sounds normal: "Negative for STDs" suggests you've seen a doctor. What did s/he say? If something were wrong (e.g. genital warts), probably s/he would have said so. I'm guessing mucus or sebaceous glands (also called Fordyce spots); or  vestibular papillae. Both of these are entirely normal. Google Fordyce spots and vestibular papillomatosus for photos to compare with yourself. See MD if any doubt remains.

: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. What your described suggests herpes lesions. Bartholin glands: Bartholin's cyst can occur near the entrance of the vagina. Cysts usually occur from blocked ducts causing secretions to build up. Best thing to do is to see your doctor if it does not improve or resolve in 2 weeks.

Get tested: Lumps, bumps, blisters, and other skin abnormalities on the genitals need to be evaluated. An examination will be needed to know the cause and treatment. A doctor will need to see what you are referring to to be able to offer a treatment suggestion. An Obgyn or dermatologist is the next stop.
