It can happen : Thrush is a fungal infection and can happen at any age. In infancy, it is common and often of no consequences. In adult, usually there is a cause: med use such as steroid/astha/copd inhalers, antibiotic use, uncontrolled diabetets, immunocompromised states such as hiv/aids, cancer/chemotherapy etc... I would consult for eval as to see why you got thrush. It is easily treatable. Good luck.

Candida: Candida is a type of yeast. When it infects the mouth, it causes thrush.

Irritation: Usually associated with a white coating of the mucous membranes.  In the mouth it can be associated with pain/irrition, redness of tissue, difficulty eating or swallowing.  In the vagina, it can be associated with itching, burning, dryness, white cottage cheese like discharge.

Several things: It could be something as simple as a coating on youy tongue but could also be something more serious like lichen planus. If it does not come off with a good brushing with your toothbrush you should visit an ENT doctor.

No: Most people with normal immune systems do not get thrush. Ifants are an exception- they can get it, but you are not likely to catch it from them.

The candida that overgrows to cause thrush normally lives in people's mouths and vaginas, in small amounts. Having oral sex doesn't make the candida grow more.
