: Put down the computer. Pick up your phone. Call your Dentist immediately! Cavities are infections that gradually spread through circulatory system to other organ systems. There is no magic product, poultice, pill, app, video, OTC, mouthwash, or as-seen-on-TV that will cure dental infections.  The longer you delay, the bigger the infection gets, the more treatment costs.

Gum swelling?: Hello, without seeing a picture of how your gums look I would guess that you got something stuck inside your gums.  If you get bleeding now when you floss then it's very likely something is lodged underneath.  You can gently floss again now to see if you can dislodge anything or try to rinse with salt water focusing on the front area.  See a dentist if there is no improvement in a day or so.

Observe: If you mean just inside the upper lip.This is a simple remnant of the upper frenulum. Essentially all kids eventually tear it and it heals over a period of weeks. The saliva contains germ suppressing agents so we rarely do much other than let the areas heal on their own.
