i think i have ringworm but i'm not sure. it's on the front of my neck. it looks like pictures i've seen but isn't itchy and not very scaly.

Still possible.: Could still be it.  Could be something else as well.  Unless you are immunocompromised a topical anti fungal such as terbinafine or miconazole should work well. Talk with your local pharmacist and use as directed.

Tinea corporis: Tinea corporis (ringworm) is a fungal infection of the skin generally characterized (intially) by a red raised round patch, followed by central clearing and an advancing border.  Treatment is with topical antifungals.       Patches that have been treated and healing may have a temporary brown discoloration.

Do what derma says.: Duracan is an antifungal that can be used to treat ringworm. The elica m cream contains another antifungal as well as a steroid. This antifungal treats the ringworm, and the steroid just helps the ringworm be less red and itchy. There are lots of ways to treat ringworm. It is harder to kill fungus on nails so be sure to follow up with your dermatologist whenever you're supposed to go back.

Toenail line: Could be among many conditions: racial variations, trauma, deformity in your foot that causes friction with your shoes, nail infection, lichen planus psoriasis.amyloidosis. viral warts, skin cancer, Addison’s disease, Cushing syndrome, hyperthyroidism, growth hormone dysfunction photosensitivity.too much iron. Have it checked out by your doc!

Tinea capitis: Tinea capitis is caused by a fungal infection of the scalp/roots of the hair. There are a number of different 'germs' that can do this. A doctor should be able to guide therapy, since there are a few different antifungal treatments available. If possible, the doc should figure out the species of fungus, see how much inflammation there is, and try to tailor the therapy. Hope you can see a doctor.

Hard to tell: but blackish purplish is not typical of ringworm (tinea) infection . I think you need to check with your doctor if this has been present for more than 10 days or is progressing.

i have developed a ringworm on my right breast & have been taking triamcinolone for a week. more r showing up and turning black. is this normal?

Wrong medication: If you have ringworms, triamcinolone, which is a steroid, is the wrong medication. You need an anti fungal agent. Over the counter medications are lotrimin, clotrimazole, terbinafine among others.

how do you know if a ringworm is healing?i had small pimples in my thighs that ended up making a ring shape i have been using anti fungal cream but im not sure if its healing because it has now turned brownish blackish

Doctor can examine: Rashes are hard to describe or visualize in words. Not all ring-shaped rashes are skin fungal infections (some are not fungal infections). As a ringworm fungal infection resolves, it levels off with the rest of the skin and feels non-elevated, it returns toward normal skin color, it stops being itchy or weepy or crusty, etc...  An in-person exam can help, or else a video exam with a good camera.

i had a c-section in sep 2010, i have big black-red icthy patches on my buttocks and in my upper thigh area  & is now spreading, shaped like ringworm.

See your doctor.: It is very unlikely to be related to your c-section. Get examined by your doctor right away for prompt diagnosis and treatment. Good luck!
