Avoid those: As a kidney doc, i would recommend against it since phosphate  from enemas can sometimes deposit in the kidneys and cause acute kidney failure.

: In the US a level of less than 2.5 is considered low. Unless there are different units in the UK, your level is very low. Is there a family history of this? Do you have any symptoms?  Any kidney disease or parathyroid gland abnormalities?  Often there are no symptoms. Treatment is with phosphorus supplements, but if a repeat level is still low, I recommend consulting a nephrologist who'll check yo

Acidifying urine: You can acidify urine by taking vitamin c or cranberry juice. Certain foods can acidify the urine too, such as plums, prunes, meats, cheeses, eggs, fish, and grains.

Usually Not: The purpose of treatment of colitis and lead pipe colon is to diminish inflammation and prevent further damage. This appearance of the colon usually means multiple previous episodes of acute colitis and scarring of the tissues.

good afternoon doctors. my urologist wants me to do a fleet enema before a prostate biopsy. i live alone and am worried that i may not do the enema correctly. is there an oral medication i can take similar to a fleet enema like i did for colonoscopy?

: Not really. A fleets is designed to empty the last segment of your large bowel so the debris in not in the way of your procedure. Oral medications are not dependable for this. They are slow to work and incomplete when/if they do. I would look for a demonstration video online if you need to get some pointers on doing it. The fleets kit has written instructions.

Yes: You can use a laxative once in a while but concentrate on eating healthy with enough fiber and more fruits and vegetables to avoid medications. If chronically constipated you may need doctors advice of how to tackle it with a stool softener which would be safer.

None whatsoever!: Low values are of no consequence. It only matters if it is high.

: Why would anyone want to do that? There has to be a specific reason. Things prescribed for one area of the body should not be used on other areas without asking the prescriber
