i am type 2 dm on oral medication. now i am preganant. since i am on tablets instead of insulin can i continue my preganancy?

Accepted Answer

Yes: Some of the oral meds actually decrease the risk of miscarriage. Others do carry some risk and will need to be changed. There is also a chance that you will need to be put on insulin at some point in the pregnancy but you can with close monitoring have a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Best of wishes.

What HTNsive med?: The DM prob has some anti-HTNsive effect, but that does not mean it is safe to stop your anti-hypertensive med.  Some Anti-HTNsive meds can only be gradually reduced, and dangerous otherwise. More info is necessary.

can you take musinex dm while om bloid pressure medication?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but…: Avoid mucinex-d which conyains Pseudoephedrine can affect BP & has potential interaction with many BP meds. Guaifenesin & dextromethorphan (mucinex (guaifenesin) dm) does not affect BP or BP meds.

i am 39 & with essential hypertension since 18yrs.also type 2 dm.i am not on regular medications. i am getting occasional left sided chest pain.why?

Chest pain: When somebody has to chest pain , cardiac origin has to be ruled out. See your doctor.

Yes: You may want to take either Allegra or claritin (loratadine).Dont use any decongestant or anything end in d!

Mono is a viral: illness, causing sore throat, swollen lymph nodes (glands) in the neck area and fatigue. It is caused by the Epstein Barr Virus. It can also cause some inflammation of the liver and spleen. I'm not sure what medication you were switched from, so can't answer the second part of your question. No major  interactio: No major drug interactions between Bupropion and Oxymetalozine decongestant.
Bupropion in people with alcoholism can precipitate alcohol withdrawal and rarely seizures,

Yes: Some medications for dm are metabolized in the liver.  Most inhaled meds for COPD can also affect liver function.

Some diseases of the lung, like Alpha one antitrypsin disease present as both COPD and liver enzyme elevation.

can i take my brom-pse-dm cough syrup with ibuprofen for headach and my anxiety medication all at the same time?

PSE worsens anxiety: It is best to avoid medications containing PSE if you have anxiety, as it worsens the anxiety.  The other ingredients listed are fine, however, and can be taken together without worsening the anxiety.  Find a cough syrup without PSE.

any medication for moderate microalbuminuria other than tight control of htn. dm with diet exercise like acetylcysteine taurine?

Possibly: There appears to be some data supporting the use of acetylcysteine taurine for this purpose. You are already taking the usually recommended medication to prevent kidney damage in diabetes, i.e. telmisartan, an angiotensin receptor blocker. These drugs, along with ACE inhibitors, are the standard of care. Notable side effects of acetylcysteine are reported including rash. Review with your doc.
