I would avoid it: I find calamine would be excessively drying &amp; may add to your itching problem. AA cool compress applied to the more irritated areas can quell itching &amp; a thin layer of 1% hydrocortisone cream may reduce the irritation.

See below: Permethrin can be used more than twice but 2 treatments 1 week apart are almost always curative.  The itching can persist beyond the end of treatment despite cure.  This is treated with calamine lotion or solarcaine for symptomatic relief until it resolves.

Yes, but: It may be unnecessary. If using it for scabies, it does usually kill the mites with the first application.However, the itching and irritation are caused by a body response to the debris left in the tunnels created by the mites.This irritation will take weeks to calm down after the mites are dead.

1 oz: Apply to entire body from neck down and leave on overnight. Repeat  in one week if necessary. Strip sheets and pillow case in morning and wash linens in hot water to kill mites. Also treat everyone else in house even they are symptomatic. Always check if dog or cat is source.

Once: It is recommended that you wait 9-10 days before repeating it.  There is resistance to the medication now and therefore it may not be effective. Also itching may continue if you have scabies infection even though the mite has been killed.  You should see your doctor to see if another medicine needs to be prescribed.
