Clarify with doctor: Clarify the doctor who prescribed the medication how you are supposed to be taking it. Progesterone is sometimes used to regulate cycles but one would not expect a cycle until you stop taking it.

Irregular menses: in your case it is likely the change in hormones from stopping the BCP.  This should straighten itself out in 3-6 months, if it does not and you are not pregnant then you need to FU with your GYN to find the cause.

See doctor tomorrow: It's hard-to-impossible to give a good answer without knowing a fair bit more - or at least something - about you, but suffice to say that 17 days is abnormal and you should see a doctor promptly. You will need an exam and some tests, get help soon you will not fix this spending  more time online. Good wishes.

Exam needed: Definitely have an exam! Your PCP or an OBGYN can tell you much more after a good exam - further tests may be needed to determine Tx, but don't wait longer. That is not w/in normal range of variation. Something (maybe simple) is off. Find out what. Best wishes!

Yes: Your period can be very irregular after stopping the pill. It can take 3-4 months to get back to a normal pattern. If you are not regular by that time see your doctor for exam and blood testing.

Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone): People who are on the Depo Provera (medroxyprogesterone) shot can have irregular bleeding which can last the whole time they are on it.  At any rate, Depo will not usually stop bleeding right after an injection.  Your body needs time to adjust to the hormonal change.
