Normal: Variance in periods is completely normal.  Changes in diet and stress level can cause it.  Also, if you are not on an oral contraceptive, it can change if you hang out with different women.  Women's periods will actually adjust to mirror each other over time.  Hope this helps!

Ovarian cyst: You could have had an ovarian cyst that ruptured and caused pain and early period. There are many other reasons as well but for you age , that could be a possibility.

Cycles vary: based on age, stress, tension, aniety, illness a nd if sexually active, pregnancy, Consult your GYN if symptoms persisit and certainly get a pregnancy test if having unprotected intercourse.

Irregular periods: Irregular periods are one of the most common problems obgyns treat. If this is one time problem it usually resolves on its own. If this is a recurring problem you should be evaluated. Infections ;  hormonal changes can cause spotting. If there is a concern for pregnancy then do  a home pregnancy test .  There are many options available to help regulate the menstrual cycle. Schedule a visit.

Misinformed?: To get pregnant sperm have to be in the vagina before ovulation. They must be ready to impregnate an egg when the ovary releases it. The sperm most likely to cause pregnancy are the sperm deposited in the vagina on any or all of the five days leading up to ovulation. Sperm left after ovulation often do not reach the egg before it no longer can be impregnated.

Yes: Having a heavy menstrual period. That occurs 11 days earlier than with do can be caused by an implantation bleed which occurs when someone is early on in her pregnancy. There are other causes of heavy bleeding between periods such as hormonal balance. Anyone who sexually active particularly having unprotected sex is highly likely to become pregnant. Would recommend using condoms and birth control

Bleeding: Breakthrough bleeding (bleeding at the wrong time)  is very common on all forms of birth control. It happens in about 1/3 of users. Its no big deal and usually self corrects over time.  If you are not satisfied or it continues to happen  then consider using a different birth control method. It is a common side effect and does not mean something is wrong or that the iud is not working.

You can have hormone imbalance either naturally or through contraception which can cause bleeding changes especially if you forget to take the pill or if you are on an implant or injectable. Stress and weight change can cause  changes to your cycle. Cervical changes and infection can  also cause changes in bleeding pattern.
