i had pulled neck muscle and was told to massage it.  i think i ended up irritating the neck lymph nodes .  what can i do to ease the lymph nodes.  it is dangerous to do that?  not massaging the neck anymore; obviously a bad ides.  thank you?

: Often when a muscle is strained or injured it will go into spasm. When the muscle is massaged it can irritate the muscle and cause more pain and more spasm. When the muscle is stretched, the normal mechanism of the muscle is to relax. This can be done with physical therapy and with some physician assisted manipulative therapy. Also, ice to the area can help reduce the spasm and pain quickly.

i have facial cellulitis. did 4 days iv vano finished today but forehead is still a little pink. cheeks are back to normal and lymph nodes down. i just noticed 2 small sores on my mouth that are new. should i be concerned w/ forehead and sores?

Maybe : If they are inside it could be a rare but serious medication side effect or infectious cause called Stevens-Johnson Syndrome.  I would recommend an in person evaluation so a thorough examination can be done.  God Bless

finished 10 day course of amox for strep on feb 18th. ever since my ears and lymph nodes in my neck have been hurtingwhy or what could this be?

: I assume your rapid throat culture demonstrated strep. Did you have any other respiratory tract symptoms in addition to a sore throat?  If so, an accompanying viral infection may also have been present. This would be unaffected by antibiotics and your current symptoms may be due to the viral component of illness with some ongoing inflammation. I'd give this a few more days before seeing the MD aga

i stopped smoking a couple months ago but my lymph nodes are still swollen. i've had a ct scan, nothing was found. how can i reduce the swelling?

Nodes swollen: Smoking not likely cause of swollen nodes. You did not say where the nodes were. neck? arm pit, groin or where.
Swelling will be reduced when you know the cause and the cause is treated.

Unclear : You need images to know about the proper diagnosis, but  the lymph nodes normally   in your armpits are swollen, but look harmless.

am 24 with a wbc of 3.9 w/ monocytes at 10.7%. in 2012 wbc was 7.2. currently have 8 swollen lymph nodes. no infectious disease . was re-ended in dec.

All of the : Labs you quote are normal. The monocytes being elevated shows an active healthy bone marrow. Your lymph nodes filter those vessels that drain areas of your body. You are likely very healthy.
