Yes...diluted 50-50: Yes, is the simple answer, If it is diluted 50-50 with water. But better if the PCP's office with ability to look into the ears can do the flushing.

Ear infection ?'s: Manual cleaning of wax buildup in the ear canal can be very painful even if done by an ENT physician.  Unlikely to cause an infection, but if pain continues , go back to the ENT for an exam and appropriate treatment.

This liquid is commonly used as an additive for OTC products for wax removal. After you confirm clean ears with your doctor, I usually recommend ear cleaning with peroxide for the first few days of each month.

Acquired problem: Unfortunately, the peroxide turns to into water after use and too much moisture in the ear canal can lead to overgrowth of germs/fungus.You may have triggered the equivalent of "swimmers ear".A solution of alcohol and vinegar may help it dry out and eliminate the fungus, but may be too painful to use.Make a call to your doc &amp; see if they want you to come in or just send out meds.

Not my favorite: I have spent 20 years unplugging ears and i never used hydrogen peroxide. Check out drug store, there are a number of overt the counter cerumenolytics that work.

: Hydrogen peroxide breaks down to water when it releases oxygen. If it remains for an extended time in the canal it can be absorbed &amp; trigger all the issues swimmers sometimes have with retained water. If the eardrum is intact, it is harmless if you get it out after use.
