Not much: Percentiles compare us to others at the same age. If we are in the 80th height percentile, then we are taller than 80 out of 100 kids the same age. We grow at different levels sometimes though, and we can be 80th percentile one month and then 30th percentile 3 months later. As long as kids have a progressive gain, they are probably fine. Acute changes should be addressed by your doc.

Concentrate on a calorie appropriate, healthy diet with low carb snacks.

Your brain is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets. You should learn something new each day. Treat diabtes, hypertension, and cholesterol. Consider a dash or Mediterranean diet, fish, and a multivitamin.

Different skill sets: These tests measure very different abilities. The RAVLT measures a wide variety of memory functions including auditory, verbal, rate of learning and retention of information. It is excellent that you scored so high on that test. The Rey tests measure visuospatial ability and visuospatial memory. Your low score here just means that those are not your gifts, but you can improve this with practice.

Visual memory: One would like to hear some more about other subtests usually used when RAVLT and visual memory are tested. In general, it appears that you are more able to process conceptual auditory inputs into working memory. On the other hand, your processing visual stimuli and discrimination are not at the same level. Reading might have been more difficult for you.

First : First of all, you need to be heard. If your doctor is not listening to your concerns then you need to bring to his/her attention. If that does not work find another doctor for your child. Your concerns are valid. A decrease in the growth cure from about 85th percentile to 25th is concerning. In light of this and the family history you should ask to be referred to an endocrinologist (hormone doctor) to evaluate your son. Also a nutritionist can be consulted to make sure your son's diet is appropriate. His history of asthma and allergies should not have caused such a significant drop in his growth curve.
