i have lower left back pain that radiates to my lower left abdomin and its started after starting my prescription omeprazole for peptic ulcers. could the medication be related to the pain in anyway or would it be related to the upper endoscopy i had?

Ulcer-related?: The medicine itself wouldn't cause pain. It is more likely that the ulcer persists and causing more pain. Need to check back with your dr.

what kind of pain medications should be taken for a peptic ulcer?

Really none: Pain medications such as Ibuprofen or Aspirin (nsaids) should be avoided with peptic ulcers.  The best treatment for ulcer pain is acid suppresion witih a ppi (prilosec, prevacid, nexium, dexilant, protonix, etc).  Sometimes Carafate may also help a little.  The pain shouldn't last long.  An analgesic such as tylenol (acetaminophen) or a narcotic may help with pain too.

how effective the homeopathy medication for peptic ulcer? is it possible to kill the h.pylori bacteria permanently through homeopathy medication?

Probably not...: If helicobacter pylori has been documented in association with your ulcer, then treatment of it is requisite.Not treating this bacteria places you at risk for ulcer non-healing, ulcer recurrence, ; even stomach cancer.There are a number of antibiotic combinations that work quite effectively in eradicating the infection. After completion of antibiotics, check stool to document clearance of the bug.

PROTON PUMP: Inhibitors like omeprazole, zegerid, nexium, dexilant, (dexlansoprazole) prevacid, aciphex, pantoprazole(generic protonix).

Define recent: Pylera is a combo pill used to treat helicobacter pylori which causes ulcers. Dexilant (dexlansoprazole) is a proton-pump inhibitor in the same class as Prilosec and Nexium which helps to heal ulcers.

OTC meds?: First be sure the diagnosis is confirmed by a doctor.  There is a bacteria that can cause stomach ulcers and you should be checked for this.  If that is negative then OTC meds that can be used include ranitidine (Zantac), Omeprazole (Prilosec), Pantoprazole (protonix), tums (calcium carbonate).

Several: Common is a ppi, e.g. Prevacid, (lansoprazole) and 2 antibiotics, e.g. Amoxicillin and clarithromycin. Others can include different antibiotics (if allergic or second rx), bismuth, e.g. Pepto bismol, and ppi. Take for 10-14 days. Other rx also.

how do you take ppi w/ nsaid if you have peptic ulcer?  which ppi drug/dose do you recommend if someone w/ peptic ulcer must on max dose of nsaid?

Avoid NSAID if able: I would minimize NSAID use and/or consider a cox-2 alternative. Hpylori needs to be excluded and treated if present. With this i would rec high dose ppi bid for 6-8 weeks and then if PUD healed decrease to once a day.

tx for h.pylori infx 6 mos ago, now peptic ulcer comes back after taking anti-inflammatory (lodine/medrol) drug for 2 wks. is current flare-up due to failure eradicate h.pylori or nsaid drugs?

Either / both: Could be from either or both.  We're biopsied obtained at time of recent egd for the evaluation of hpylori? If not then you should have a breath test for hpylori (when safe to come off ppi).
