Iron deficient?: My first concern, even if you are not anemic. Don't treat lab values, but this can be a warning.

It means nothing: This varies tremendously from person to person for no reason whatever. Reference ranges are set so that several percent of healthies fall outside on either end. It's of considerable interest if you have certain other blood problems, and I'll assume you don't. Be thankful for good health.

Please clarify: There is no context here or the reason for these blood tests.  Numbers thrown at us without a history or context or what else is tested does not lead to any real or valid help here.

Just a bit high: Is this the first time you've been tested? Some folks always run a slightly high direct bilirubin though this is much less common than indirect (gilbert's). Are you taking any medications? Were there any other abnormal labs? Have you any symptoms / signs? Your physician may give you a follow-up in a few weeks & will advise you.

Renal Insufficiency: Yes. That is most likely the right way to read the result. This is very high and dangerously so.  If you do not have good access to care please seek this out as soon as you can.

Accepted Answer

: It's conclusive there is no active syphilis. It is theoretically possible that this person was infected in the past and effectively treated, or his or her immune system cleared up the infection. At this time, the person does not have active syphilis and cannot transmit syphilis to anyone.

Hepatitis B: If you have hepatitis B on board, you owe it to both yourself and your wife to manage it so that you live a reasonably healthy life. Hopefully she is immunized and won't be infected by you.

my blood report from sunday evening i.e. 14th june ( 23rd day) of 34 days cycle shows i ovulated and its 35 unit. so when did i ovulated?

Trying to clarify: Ovulation occurs about 14 days before your menstrual cycle. On a 35 day cycle you would expect ovulation on about day 21. If you had a Progesterone blood test done around day 23 with a level of 35 then this confirms you ovulated a few days before the test was done. A Progesterone level above 10 is consistent with ovulation

hello sir , 51 yrs old lady blood report showing alp increases 179mg/dl and hb lower 8.9, all other values are normal what is the diagnosis of this?

Need to know more: Alk phos may be high for "no reason" or subclinical Paget's or the circumstances of testing especially if nonfasting. However, Hgb 8.9 is anemia, this is serious and it needs to be worked up properly. I am dismayed that her physician did not address her concerns and explain directly the appropriate follow-up, and I trust she will be proactive in pursuing the cause.
