Wt loss? : Pcos unfortunately can be exacerbated with increased weight as this triggers imbalance in hormonal production.  There's no cure to pcos, but weight loss goals should be encouraged since symptoms can improve.  Other options including metformin can be added to your regime.  Consider f/u with your gyn and perhaps an endocrinologist.

platelets cut off in uk is 400. mines were 464 last month. now they are 560 ish. big increase. dr said will speak to heamotology as been rising for while. have pcos& bleeding for 6 months. chances platelet level will cause blood clot and kill me?

: There are things, apart from platelet cancer, that could cause increased number however do not necessarily result in blood clot that could kill you. The bleeding may be releasing chemicals to stimulate production and other inflammatory process may do the same. The important thing is that you are going to see a Heamatologist that could evaluate and explain to you better why you have high platelets.

See your doctor : Your lining at 1.7 mm is very thin.  You may benefit from higher estrogen therapy.  Also make sure it is 1.7 mm not 1.7 cm.  If its 1.7 cm you may benefit from progesterone.

See your doctor again let her know you are still bleeding.

Normal.: Irregular and unpredictable bleeding is very common with PCOS. It can take several months to regulate your cycle on a birth control pill. This is not a sign of cancer or anything else dangerous. Hope this helps.

Not necessarily: Hello, 
If you are pregnant and bleeding, it could be due to implantation and or early signs of miscarriage. Keep in mind, just because you have spotting/bleeding, it doesnt mean that you will end up with a miscarriage but follow up with ob-gyn is important.

i have pcos. been bleeding every day for 6 months. light/normal mostly. but heavy alot of the time also. very heavy for 4 days now. extremely sore head. heart palpitations worse than normal. drs and hospital dont help me. is this bleeding killing me?

: Take iron and multivitamin supplements to prevent anemia. Drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless. It would be prudent to consult a gynecologist.

See a gynecologist: Excessive bleeding as you have described can certainly make you sick. You should consult a gynecologist. Unless you are planning to get pregnant, your doctor may put on the kind of pills with which you have very few periods and it would obviate the bleeding. Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine

Not due to IUD: Pregnancy is always on the list of possibilities when a woman has abnormal uterine bleeding or cycles.  You may also be having anovulatory cycles (cycle without producing an egg from the ovary).  If a urine pregnancy test is negative, i would recommend evaluation by your gynecologist, and treatment will depend on the cause of the abnormal bleeding and your current short-term pregnancy goals.

i'm 28 & my 'period' came 2 weeks early. i haven't ovulated since oct (seeing my dr. next week b/c i suspect pcos). could pcos cause early bleeding?

2 weeks?: If you havent ovulated since october then you would not have had a (natural) period since october - so how did you know when to expect your period? Pcos is very often associated with missed or late periods, so doesn't sound worrisome.
