Don't know what's: it, but it says on the label NOT to use with antidepressants.  Talk to your doctor or prescriber and/or your pharmacist.

Consult doctor: Do not take any medication,herbals, over the counter medications or nutritional supplements without talking to your doctor who prescribed Paxil.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Risky: There have been problems with Chantix along the lines of mood disorders and suicidality.  It sounds like you're already dealing with complex mood and anxiety issues, so i would not risk tilting your balance further with chantix. There are other ways to help you stop smoking -- please discuss with your physician.

Eat thoughtfully: On or off paxil, (paroxetine) you will lose weight if you eat fewer calories than you need. Unfortunately, it takes longer to lose weight than to gain it. If you eat too little, your body goes into conservation mode, and you won't lose weight. So, eat frequent small balanced low calorie meals. And be consistent and patient! your doctor can give you individual guidance. Weight watchers is helpful to many.

Paxil (paroxetine): I doubt this.  Although people can lose weight on topomax that is not it's indication. Please let your physician know about your weight gain.  I don't use Paxil (paroxetine) all that often, because a number of people i treated in the past had weight gain.  Your physician might consider change to another ssri. Take care.

50mgpaxil for 18 years last dose was dec.6th switched over to prozac 60mg to lose weight, lost six pounds, should i go back on paxil,feeling depressed?

Try higher dose.: You should report the med response to the doctor who prescribed the med. Prozac can be raised to 80 mg/day. You can take this dose for 1-2 months. If you don't notice an improvement in your mood, then talk to him or her about switching back to Paxil.

A couple suggestions: Are you actually looking to transition to another drug or are you trying to come off all together? You could try transitioning to citalopram which doesn't tend to be as difficult to stop as Paxil (paroxetine) but is related enough that you should still have some relief of your mental symptoms. Another one to consider transitioning to would be sertraline. Weight gain isn't that big an issue with either of those

Slow titration: There is no way besides tincture of time, but doing a slow taper off of your dose of Paxil (paroxetine) rather than cold turkey, say over 1-2 months, can reduce or eliminate withdrawal symptoms.

Accepted Answer

No: I would not recommend using an potentially addictive drug to ease a side effect of withdrawal from another drug. Not sure if you are working with your doc on tapering schedule or not, if you are may need to slow it down. Discuss with doctor, there may be other options. For some of my patients i've had success putting on Prozac to wean off paxil, (paroxetine) then wean off prozac. It's longer half life helps.
