my big toe is partially numb after my sesamoidectomy 3 weeks ago. will the numbness go away? how long does this take?

Numbness: Surgery may cause tissue irritation (expected). Tissue healing involves the skin, soft tissue , and surrounding nerves. It could take 9 months for healing including the numbness (neuroma). If you can move you toes, then nerve us not damaged. Massage area it helps healing, give it time.

left big toe is partially numb, what should i do? after a sleep it is still numb. went on a weeks trip with lots of walking. no injuries?

: You are probably putting pressure on one one of the digital nerves while walking. Feeling should return. Light massage can help. Try a cushion insole to help protect the nerve. If this fails see if you can find a Practioner to make a custom orthotic. This will redirect your gait to take pressure off the nerve.

Walking: generally well localized numbness in the toe is from your shoes and significant walking. There is rubbing on a small superficial nerve. It may or may not get better with time. nothing to do.

one week ago, my left big toe was partially numb near the nail area after i came back from a weeks trip that required alot of walking. its slightly better now but i woke up with right big toe feeling fullness today. what is wrong?

: First thing. Is your nail discolored? If so soak in warm water apply antibiotic cream cover with bandage. Then place your foot into the boot while standing where does the end of the toe reach? If you can place your thumb between toe and end if shoe, ok if not new boots needed. If ok  The toe area might not be high enough. If help needed see your podiatrist.

Trauma to nerve: When you stub your toe it is actually blunt force trauma to all the tissues in toe. The injury may not be bad enough to fracture bone  but it can result in contusion-a 'deep bruise'  to the soft tissues-skin muscle, tendon and nerves in the toe. Unlike the other tissues, nerve healing can take months. If the nerve was not severed, as happens in cuts to toe, the numbness should resolve.

Remove cyst: You could see if another drainage attempt might work, but, it sounds like there is pressure on a nerve and removal of the cyst may be necessary to preserve the nerve. Speak to podiatrist or orthopedic specialist soon.
