IUD's work well: IUD's work very well. If still worried, can do a home urine test. A urine pregnancy test gives a reliable result 3 weeks after sex (3 weeks after when conception might have occurred), or 1 week after missing a regular period. If done sooner, a positive result is likely real, but a negative result may be due to testing too soon, and thus lead to a repeat test.

Sure: Sure, as long as it's comfortable for you.  As you progress in your pregnancy, it will be important to start lying on your side or back, because lying on your stomach in the 2nd or 3rd trimester can decrease blood flow (via the placenta) to the baby. They also sell pregnancy pillows to help conform to the body.

Yes.: 5 months is about 20wks, so the top of the uterus is only at the level of your belly button. See how you measure at the subsequent appointments as you proceed to 24wks, 28wks, 32wks, etc. Don't forget that it's the size of the uterus that gets measured, not how much belly you have.
