Yes: Pandas is a relatively rare disorder thought to occur after a strep infection in young children who, after a bout of strep, may suddenly develop obsessive-compulsive behaviors and motor and/or vocal tics.  The symptoms tend to wax and wane, worsening if the child has another bout of strep.  Best treatment remains unclear.

Uncertain: The nih does not recommend tonsillectomy for treatment of pandas; there is no clear evidence from clinical trials that it helps. On the other hand, there are many, many reports on sites like pandas foundation that tonsillectomy was the cure for their children. In my practice, I have seen some remarkable improvements following tonsillectomy, but again, these are "anecdotal". Ask your doc.

Unsure: Pandas or pediatric autoimmune neuropsychiatric disorder associated with streptococcus is a sudden onset of obsessive/compulsive behaviors or tics with a positive throat culture for strep and/or positive blood test markers for a recent strep infection.  The disorder is not well classified, but appears to respond well to antibiotics such as Augmentin (amoxicillin and clavulanate) or zithromax.  Talk to your doctor.

Tics?: Chorea in pregnancy is related to the pregnancy (chorea gravidarum)  sydenham chorea is related to rheumatic fever and is very rare these days chorea gravidarum can be very severe , very occasionally necesiating termination neither are tics!
