Possibly: I have a mom who has gone through 3 successful pregnancies with a similar setup. The SSRI is a category C drug during pregnancy with some but workable effects on some newborns.The Copaxone (glatiramer) is a category B with no negatives.You will need to have great family support and or a nanny to deal wit rambunctious kids, so be prepared.

SEVERAL CHOICES: If you have relapsing-remitting form, many meds are available.  Many ms specialists are now recommending using the most potent drugs available, especially in first few years.  Tysabri, (natalizumab) followed by gilenya, and possibly bg-12 (not yet available) might be good items.  Copaxone if a young women who wants kids, but not very potent.  Vitamin d-3 supplements are crucial in some. See ms specialist.

Clarity: Sorry, we do not have the cure for ms, but we can readily control the disorder.  All current medications on the market, control the entry of inflammatory cells into the brain and spinal  cord by a variety of mechanisms, so that damage to myelin is reduced.  Tysabri (natalizumab) is most successful, Gilenya a close second, and far less effective are interferons and copaxone.  Avonex is by far the least potent.

You : You have a few options. The first would be to contact your local county health facility and inquire about programs for people who have no insurance and are in need of treatment. Another option would be to contact the pharmaceutical company that manufactures the medication you need an inquire about any patient assistance programs. A long shot would be to research any ongoing clinical trials for ms and see if you are a candidate and then consider if this is an option for you. Good luck!

why do the medications and surgical procedures not work as well for the patient who also has ms?

Possible: Depends on the surgery andcondition of the ms. Ms affets sensory and motor neurological symptoms and it may be resonable that if surgery is perform in an area the MS affects the tissue may not respond as well as othe areas not affected.But there may be additional causes for your poor response and may not always be attributted to the ms.

What meds R U taking: In the initial stages of MS, pain is uncommon, but, as the condition deteriorates, muscles weaken, joints get unstable, posture changes and, of course, painful muscle spasms can occur.  The best thing you can do is to is to get a referral to a physical therapist who has experience in treating such conditions.  I also have MS.    Pain meds are the treatment of last resort! i am scared to take any medication other then what i am on and dose to a t my doc just changed my dose from 1 10/325 mg hydrocodone to 2 of them for morning pain from ms and fibromyalgia this is scary and its only prn but should i trust her ?

With your doctor's : advice, this can be ok. You likely are somewhat accustomed to the opioid medication. Talk to your doctor about your concerns, and also request a narcan self-injection emergency kit, if they agree, a prescription can be issued for this as an extra safety measure.

Challenging: This is quite unusual, and makes me wonder whether indeed you have MS or a condition which might mimic MS.  Would suggest full reassessment including testing for neuromyelitis optica (aquaporin 4), evaluations for Lyme disease, CADASIL, vitamin B-12 and vitamin D deficiencies, perhaps syphilis and HIV, maybe anti-phospholipid antibody syndrome.

my 7yo had chest pain & rapid heart rate while on medication. she has been off for 5 weeks now & got an ekg. i was looking for an input on if her qt/qtc seems okay? results were-ventricular & atrial rates 93 pr interval 116 qrs 84 qt/qtc 366/455 ms?
