Repair is likely: Most physicians will repair any laceration that occurs during delivery unless it is very small and not bleeding. Suture used for the repair will dissolve on its own and does not need to be removed later.

Because they: Are not supposed to! u need to push the baby out in  a reasonable amount of time depending on what your specific situation is, many docs can do an outlet vacuum or forcps ( only the easiest kind to help the baby out) if necessary,  and your doc should have an estimated fetal wt all my pts do an us 34-36 wks so I have an idea of  est wt, u do n ot want a shoulder dystocia where shoulders get stuck.

Shoulder dystocia: Shoulder dystocia is a serious problem, resulting in the infant being stuck in the birth canal.  Your obstetrician is well versed in dealing with this problem during delivery.

Paraplegic: Most likely depends on the spinal injury.  I have had such a case and the patient had no pain.

will an epidural work during delivery if it did not work with the first one?

Accepted Answer

It should: It depends on why the epidural didn't work during the first delivery.  If the epidural never worked because of technical difficulty then it may be a difficult epidural for this second delivery as well.  If the epidural worked but stopped working then it is likely it can work for you.  Try to meet with an anesthesiologist for a pre-labor anesthesia assessment if possible.
