Common: It is common to have painful urination for a week or two after catheter is removed. Given your young age, your urologist probably diagnosed you with a high riding bladder neck that was causing you difficult voiding symptoms. The procedure involves putting a camera scope in your urethra and making relaxing incisions in your bladder neck with laser or cautery to change your bladder neck angle.

Contact your doctor and get an updated urinary culture.  Fully agree with further urological evaluation, as your situation appears very challenging. Pain on Urination: We do see bladder infections in children. More common in young girls than boys. Boys will sometimes have a valve that prevents the bladder from emptying fully. Any irritation to the bladder wall can cause pain on urination. Sometimes it difficult to tell if they are irritated by urinating or if it is something else is going on in the general area. Time to see your doctor.
