Donut cushion: Most of the time these resolve with time but they can be painful to sit on.  Ice packs may help and using a doughnut cushion can help decompress the spot you are sitting on while giving it a chance to heal.

Tailbone pain: You have sufferred a traumatic injury to the tailbone area and may have even fractured the tailbone.  You do need to consult with your doctor about this to see if you require any treatment.

Just happens: Multiple minor not recalled injury. A sedentary job on a hard surfaced chair or bleachers, & all of a sudden u have trouble, & once u start 2 have trouble it s hard 2 get rid of it. Even sitting on what seems comfy like an air plane seat or a couch can cause irritate a coccyx. U may go nuts trying 2 find a cause, but also in trying 2 relieve it. Lots of tricks 2 learn & cushions 2 try. Good luck.

Weeks: A very common injury. One I have had myself. Very painful as you know, particularly when sitting down. In my experience, this takes 2-4 weeks to resolve. Heat and anti-inflammatories can help take the edge off.

Exam!: I suggest you get an exam at a medical clinic as soon as possible since the associated pain from your fall has continued for 2 weeks. X-rays may be necessary to check for any possible fractures. I wish you well with your health!

Unfortunately, little can be done to speed up recovery or change its course. Treatment usually involves avoiding pain, using soft cushions or doughnuts, and resting.

No: Generally, tailbone or coccyx injuries are managed conservatively, without surgery or other interventions.  Even a broken coccyx.  I wouldnt recommend going to the hospital for one.
