i have a 2 inch red spot on my stomach that just appeared. feels like a marble inside it but does not hurt. what could this be?

Many possibilities: There are many types and causes of skin rashes.  Several types of inflammatory conditions of the skin, allergic reactions, and sometimes bacterial, viral or fungal infections can cause rashes on the skin. Insect bites can also be the cause of a rash on the skin.  Have it evaluated by a professional and get the appropriate treatment.

Could be someone pinched you, bit you, a vascular abnormality, a blood blister, a reaction to a metal fastener on your underwear-I can list some more if you ask for second opinion. Ulcer: Ulcers are not always dark in color. They often have  a white coating on them. If there is a dark spot on the base of an ulcer at endoscopy, it may represent a blood vessel or clot. Your gastroenterologist can explain more. Good luck.

Bug bite: You probably got bitten by a bug of some sort - impossible to tell what sort without seeing it in person. Could also be a small staph infection, or a bite that has become infected. Apply warm soaks 2-3 times/day, but if it doesn't resolve in a few days see your doctor or a dermatologist.

Geographic tongue, also known as glossitis migrans, is usually intermittent in nature. However, it may be something else. You should have it examined by a dentist or oral surgeon trained in oral pathology.
