: With this scenario I would be thinking of prostate congestion or prostate inflammation/infection. A physician or urologist could determine the status of your prostate by performing a rectal examination and then advise you about further testing,including urinalysi s with microscopic examination of urinary sediment and a urine culture&amp;colony count. Then treatment options will be discussed.

Urinary infection: By far most common cause. Simple urinalysis will rule UTI in or out. Other less common causes can be considered as soon as UTI is ruled out.

If from vagina,douche with 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder in 1/2 cup warm water once or twice a day for 2 days REASON :If you have fungal infection ,alkaline medium like bicarbonate (sodium bicarbonate) helps.If from urine,use AZO tablet 3 x day for 5 days,if no relieve consult M.D,or go to Walgren for help

In course of time: Usually the discomfort after removal of catheter disappears within a day or two. If you continue to have pain, it needs to be investigated.Drinking water may help to some extent.

Any burning: Any burning at any time make me automatically think there could be some kind of infection in the urinary tract going on even if you're having days when it seems to not be hurting. I would strongly advise seeing your doctor to test your urine to make sure you're not actually suffering from a urinary tract infection which could be causing this phenomenon and then get treatment for it as well.
