Many possibilities: Could still be a superficial blood clot was that evaluated when u had the sonogram?
Muscle trauma is another possibility.

Assuming: This isn't a muscle spasm that improves with stretching out, transient muscle herniation through the fascia that surrounds the muscle can occur. The muscle can then reduce through the fascial defect. Ultrasound can be useful in diagnosing these.

Cyst: If it is not visible, then most likely it's not inflammatory, because those are red, hot, swollen, itchy. Ganglion cysts (cysts located on the tendons) are by far the most common cause of otherwise not painful lumps unless touched. They are smooth surfaced, firm, mobile. They are benign and sometimes may disappear, although, at times may grown and cause even more pain due to compression.

A Boil Probably: It is likely (from your description) to be a boil.
It is painful due to pressure of pus on surrounding tissue.
You can take simple pain killers like Paracetamol.
Usually it settles by itself or pops out releasing its content.
If it gets bigger, more painful, or you start feeling unwell  you might need to see your doctor for review and further management as needed.

Cyst: May be a little cyst that has had bleeding into it due to contusion. I would leave it alone and if it does not disappear let a physician have a look at it

Can be anything!: Hard painful lumps and bumps need to be evaluated by your PCP, or dermatologist for further evaluation. Depending if there's an additional red ring around it, or if it's nodular, or if it has any other associate findings will determine what it could be. So a physical examination needs to be done for definitive diagnosis.
