Choledocholithiasis: Choledocholithiasis is the medical term for retained gallstones in the bile duct. It can result in pain in the right upper quadrant of the abdomen and/or jaundice. There can be many other causes of right upper quadrant pain after gallbladder removal, but an MRCP is a very useful test for detecting those stones if present. If your pain is that severe, don't delay. Good luck.

May be or not: Any severe pain warrants examination by a health care providers. It may be just rib pain or from lungs or liver/gall bladder.If this persists, I would like you to go see a doc.

held my urine 1-2hrs on a trip now 2 points of pain on each side of my lower abdomen, lower back and pain in upper right rib cage. is this serious?

Check for UTI: It's possible you developed a urinary tract infection ( UTI ). Any change in frequency of urination? Please see a health care provider for examination and appropriate tests.

3 weeks ago at er  severe pain in upper right rib area. i was given ultrasound,  ct scan, blood work. all tests neg. wbc hi. still w/pain vomit daily.

Need GI eval: You will need to see a gastroenterologist for further evaluation- may need to get a endoscopy to see if there is gastritis, ulcer etc.

Hernia ?: IBS has its ups and downs, but the location of the pain sounds like either reflux (GERD), or a hiatal hernia. If this persists as above, lease see a GI doc for more answers,in the meantime, anti-acid meds and Tums (calcium carbonate) will help

is this nornal? it's been almost 2 weeks since my appendix was removed via appendicotomy everyday i have pain in upper right where rib is.

Normal: everyone takes a different amount of time to recover from surgery.  THis could be normal post op or something else brewing.  any other symptoms? Worsening pain?  does it feel like your still have appendicitis?  Is better than immediately after surgery? If getting worse or not improving after 2- 3 weeks you may need some testing.  ask your surgeon. If severe pain or vomiting go to ER

Hard to say: There are multiple potential causes, you should consider being seen.  Possible causes can incude an irritation of a nerve in the thoracic spine, an inflammatory condition involving the gall bladder or the lining of the lung, and multiple other causes.  A detailed exam and appropriate studies can usually sort out the cause.  Thank you for the question.

Gallbladder pain: Pain from the gallbladder is usually made worse by fatty food ingestion - fried foods, ice cream, etc. If you have symptoms of fatty food intolerance I would see your doc today. The most specific test is called a HIDA scan. There are several approaches. Talk to your doc.

my stomach swells bad, i have bad nausea and acid reflux with a bad taste in my mouth, belching, gas and pain in upper right under rib  &breast bone.

Gallbladder: Bloating, nausea, and right upper quadrant pain are all suggestive of gallbladder disease. An ultrasound of the gallbladder and/or a HIDA scan will show if you have this. See your PCP for the testing. You should also be tested for H. pylori, the cause of most ulcers. You may need referral to a gastroenterologist or general surgeon.

Be checked: It is likely to be musculoskeletal in nature, but it could also be your gall bladder.  If it is not improving you should be evaluated with an ultrasound.
