Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without examining you, however, what you described does not suggest a serious issue and is probably related to muscles. Exercise my help in loosening the muscles.
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex.

Stabbing pain: Sounds like you have a muscle spasm. Did you pull it or have trauma, to much excessive or heavy lifting around the house. Take some ibuprofen and use bengay and relax your back. If further pain see a doctor to get checked.

i was in an accident and have pain in both my upper and lower back. i also have stinging pains in my feet that i never had before except if my foot had fallen asleep. is that related to the back pain, even though i don't have numbness in my legs?

Accepted Answer

Maybe: There could be an injury to your vertebrae or disk bulge.  This would require an exam and possibly an MRI or other tests to make a true connection between the pain and your symptoms.

See: An orthopedic spine specialist. You may have a problem at the fusion site. Can you go back to the same md who did the original fusion?

Maybe Orthotics.: It sounds like you may have a biomechanical instability in your feet that is passing problems "up the kinetic chain."  custom made prescription orthotics, made by a certified lab, under the recommendations of a podiatrist can help tremendously!

Yes and No: Some people with ibd can have arthritic conditions that can hurt.  Upper back pain may be a possibility, however if this does not resolve you might want to get it checked out.  Also typically low back pain is not a common symptom of crohns dz.  Lastly it's not common at all to have arm pain associated with crohns dz.  I'd have your low back and arm pain evaluated to see if the spine is the culprit.

Could be several...: If the back pain and thigh pain are related to same cause, likely a mid or higher lumbar disc - but could be separate related to the hip or muscles around the back and hip without a disc being involved.  If persisting, see your pcp for exam or a physical medicine specialist or neurologist.

Yes: Anybody in a car wreck with injuries your pain to go to the barn should get evaluated to make sure it's nothing serious
