I would tell doctor: You don't want to have developed a deep venous thrombosis (dvt).   You need to discuss with the doctor who did the surgery.

so for two months i been having leg pain it started a few days after i caught a charley horse in my hamstring. after that i would only feel the pain in the back of my thigh hamstring area. but now its there and down into my calf.  what could this be?

: Although your symptoms may still be muscular I recommend consulting a physician or vascular surgeon to check for any evidence of phlebitis or a Baker's cyst.. An ultrasound study will most likely be ordered as part of the evaluation.

See your PCP: Unless the pain is severe and sudden, there is no reason to go to the er. But you should have an examination done by your doctor as a starting point. He/she can order  diagnostic tests if the pain is persistent or interfering with your normal activities.

i had shingles  in april, but now have phn on my right side  at the waist  and extended  to the  back. the biggest  problem  now is my leg  pain, it starts  at the ankle  goes up to my knee,,and pain in the  back of my thigh  and up my buttock.  i can't

Sciatica pain: sounds like radicular pain from your back, may need to see a medical professional to get checked and put on appropriate treatment plan

Many possibilities: Most likely cramped muscles, but can also be nerve or circulation problems. Muscles may be sore if you recently started new exercise, took a strenuous hike, or even wore different shoes. Dehydration, electrolyte imbalance, various medications, alcohol or drugs can also cause muscle cramps. Relief: drink water, gentle stretches, massage, heat. If severe or not better within 3 days, see your doctor.

Could be: Young person it usually is muscular if it persist after tr will need test to determne cause.

Need examination : You've obviously uncovered the crux of your pain location ... 'Tight' hamstrings are common and can cause discomfort and pain not only in their 'back of thigh' location but also in the back and behind the knees( esp.as we age)as they cross both the hip and knee joints.Lumbar spine degenerative conditions are very common( 10:1) and can refer pain to the same places. See an ORS for exam,X-rays! GL!

Workup: Your symptoms are common but have numerous causes. Only a physical exam and some judicious testing will determine the cause. Blood work, x-ray, and possibly ultrasound exam(s) are needed. Treatment, of course, depends on the cause. Best wishes.

Likely unrelated: 3rd trimester pregnancy can put pressure n the colon especially when the enlarging head is downward - that can cause feeling need to poop.  The thigh pain is likely unrelated but may be a form of sciatica from lower back strain from the pregnancy.  Your Dr or a good Physical therapist can recommend some gentle stretches for back &amp; thigh Adequate fluids &amp; fiber are important for bowels.

Hamstring? sciatica?: Commonly pain in the back of thigh is due to hamstring injury or sciatica. The latter may radiate pain past the knee and into the leg sometimes with numbnes. Sciatica is due to low back issues such as arthritis or disc herniation compressing the sciatic nerve/branches. If symptoms persist or you develop any weakness/paralysis in your lower extremities then seek attention immediately in an er.
