Right sided pain: Gallbladder would be more likely - particularly if the pain begins after eating. Unless there is underlying liver disease or injury, liver as a source is less likely. See your physician. Ultrasound may determine if gallstones are present.

RUQ anatomy: Anatomically, the right upper quadrant (RUQ) of the abdomen includes: liver, gallbladder, pancreatic head, bile ducts and ampulla, c-loop of the duodenum, stomach antrum and pylorus, the hepatic flexure of the colon.  Don't forget the diaphragm and lower chest are pretty close by. The abdominal musculature, ribs, and skin can all contribute as well to localizing RUQ pain. An exam is appropriate.

RUQ ABD PAIN: First of all, it is important to distinguish pain that is emanating from the abdominal wall/muscles versus the intra-abdominal organs.  If it is the latter, the gallbladder, liver, and colon are probably the top 3 organs responsible for pain in that area.  Bottom line:  as much as we would like to help, nothing can replace a face-to-face examination from a doctor to get to the bottom of this.

: Right upper abdominal pain may be due to lots of things: constipation (even though you have have regular bowel movements), gall bladder disorders (such as cholecystitis), muscle strain, and pelvic/ovarian pain.  Sometimes "referred" pain from your bladder, cervix  (UTI or STI) or kidneys (kidney stone?) is responsible.  Try to correlate pain with foods/drink ingested, exercise, time of month.
