Possible gastric: ulcer or erosive gastritis. I advise immediate GI consultation.

Dyspepsia.: We may generally term this "dyspepsia". Some possibilities for you specifically may include reflux, gastritis, stomach ulcer, duodenitis, duodenal ulcer or an issue with your gallbladder or pancreas. Are there any associations with eating, or with certain types of foods, or time of day?

Stomach: Avoid aspirin/ibuprofen etc, alcohol and try some over the counter omeprazole. Sounds like a gastritis cause unknown.

woke up this morning feeling fine. suddenly had discomfort in pit of stomach, increase saliva, bad nausea and gagging. no other symptoms. no fever. ?

Sudden GI symptoms.: This could be one of a few things.  Could be the beginnings of a viral infection or food borne illness.  Could be a gallbladder issue, like gallstones or infection.  Could be gastritis from something other infection, like excessive alcohol intake.  We’d need more information before we could hazard a guess, but if you’re really feeling sick maybe you should be seen locally by doctor.

Ibs?: could be anything from anxiety to cancer...you could be more specific and I might be able to help.  Or see your own practitioner.

Having the sense: that air is trapped in your chest/lower esophagus can be alarming and uncomfortable. It can be due to GERD (gastrointestinal reflux) where acids/stomach contents backwash from the stomach into the esophagus. Or it can result from air swallowing (aerophagia): eating/drinking too quickly can contribute as can anxiety, talking while eating, chewing gum. carbonated drinks. Work on these; then to Doc.

See someone: Your problem is beyond a simple question.  Besides the stomach problems, you could have serious dehydration or electrolyte problems and need to see a physician or at least video conference.  That is too many days and there is no way to judge how serious the problem is, whether electrolytes, dehydration, or what the problem is.

Worrisome: While it may be something less serious, that is a typical symptom of a peptic ulcer.  You need testing for this. Other possibilities include pancreatitis (which can be even more serious),  gastritis, or non-ulcer dyspepsia. Please seek formal medical help.

Accepted Answer

Two answers : Try omeprazole OTC for possible gastritis or ulcers. If not improved see your doctor for physical exam and possible referral for a scope of your stomach and possibly biopsy if there is an ulcer.
