Knee: An easy test for arthritis is put hand on kneecap when bending and straightening the leg. If u feel a grinding called crepitus indicates some arthritis. There are conservative treatments in such a situation

: I would get it checked out.  if you are active in sports may be meniscus tear  or other ligament strain. F/u/ w/ orthopedics get an xray and MRI

Locking popping knee: You're pretty young to have things like this happening to your legs.  What did you do that resulted in this happening? Better go see your PCP about this.  This doesn't sound great especially for someone as young as you.

Torn peice can spit out  or get caught between tibia and femur causing that painful catch you describe. Not an emergency unless the knee gets locked or stuck in one position and you csnt work it loose. Arthroscopic surgery can usuall treat
