If it persists, see your family md for xrays and evaluation.

Normal Changes : Early labor or late pregnancy, one of the changes that occurs as your infant drops is the loosening of the pelvic girdle. One of the hormones produced in pregnancy allows this to happen otherwise it would be very difficult to have vaginal deliveries. If the pain is severe, get checked to make sure you're not in labor, try a support garment and hang in there; so far it sounds normal. Take care.

Hernia: This would be the area in which you would feel a hernia and that could be harder to feel when lying down. They are usually painless unless bowel becomes entrapped. See your doctor and have it checked out.

Intestinal spasms: These strong contraction like episodes sound like intestinal spasms and if persistent or associated with vomiting or abdominal distension require an evaluation by a physician to check for intestinal obstruction. Gas entrapment or gastroenteritis with subsequent diarrhea or passage of gas are other possibilities in which case the spasms may resolve,however.
