Yes: The im injections in the buttocks often cause discomfort. Definitely alternate the injection side each day. Also ask your fertility nurse to draw a larger target to spread the injections around a wider area. Walking often helps mobilize the oil. Fortunately, you will not need to take the injections forever.

Not kidney stones: The symptoms you describe are usually related to spine and nerve compression and not kidney stones. You should consult your physician for exam and possible imaging studies.

Possibilities: Any time the skin is penetrated, there is a chance that infection can develop. We are trained to use care to minimize this risk, but it can still occur sometimes. Assuming the injection was properly placed (the upper-outer quadrant of the buttock) the remaining possibilities include (1) local irritation from the medication itself and (2) infection. Heat and redness indicate infection.

Silicone injections: No! no! and no!  people do inject silicone into buttocks but it is not legal and it is very dangerous.  In the last few months alone, there have been at least two fatalities that I am aware of and several permanent injuries from this.  Liquid silicone can enter the large blood vessels in the butt and travel to the brain or lungs, causing death.  Or it can become infected and cause draining boils.

During that time, the butt muscle is allowed to stay soft and relaxed, because the person has decided he will not send any signals to the muscle to move or to tighten up. That works, but one has to practice letting go of the butt muscle (stop controlling it) for a minute.

Hematoma: It sounds like a gluteal hematoma, or bleeding inside the muscle. Most go away in few weeks, some may last indefinitely. Other causes may not be ruled out, if it persists your doc will be best to assess.
