Call your doctor: There can be different reasons for the pain, but the most serious and potentially life-threatening would be deep vein thrombosis (dvt). This should be checked in the emergency room with an ultrasound.

i just got bit several times by mosquitos. i noticed one bite on my leg has 3 dark lines coming out from it. it almost looks like veins but ive never seen it before. ive had reactions to mosquito bites before but havent seen this. whats going on?

: I'm not sure what the dark lines signify. A physician would have to inspect this to be sure. The lines could be some breakdown products of some bleeding that occurred under the skin from the bite.

Small incisions: The veins are removed through a small incisions less than half an inch long. Depending on whether it the varicose veins themselves are removed, or the saphenous vein is removed, the incisions can be in one or two places, or several. After you heal, the scars will be much less noticeable than the veins were.

Maybe: If you can feel it with your hands it is likely arterial blood. Should have this evaluated.

Depends on Approach: The recovery depends greatly on whether the vein is harvested via an "open" technique or an "endoscopic" technique. Surprisingly vein harvest incisions using the "open" technique often break down or become infected. Sutures don't come out sometimes for two weeks. The "endoscopic" technique requires shorter incisions and has fewer complications.

Local care first.: Following trauma to the knee, the knee will swell for several reasons including soft tissue injury which results in an inflammatory reaction leading to fluid accumulation and also bleeding from injured veins in the area which also lead to swelling.  The initial treatment is ice, elevation, nsaids and ace wrap.  If this doesn't help then see a physician.

are there superficial veins on the edge of the thigh/hamstring where the two come together at the back of the inner leg? feel knobby like cord

Varicose veins: This sounds like a varicose vein. If develop pain, swelling, or shortness of breath, see your doctor for proper evaluation and treatment

They could be disc: This could be from the disc, and it depends on where in your leg you feel the sensation. A pinched nerve may feel the way that you're noticing.
