Health anxiety: Anxiety can cause all kinds of symptoms, less often one-sided. There can be muscle weakness, plus numbness and tingling in extremities.  You could also possibly have a neck issue impinging on nerves that lead to your hand; a neurology consult could help. Being generally very anxious about your health could also merit seeing a psychologist for assistance managing this. Good therapies are available.

scared i have als, emg was done on left upper arm and left elbow area but they didn't test my left hand. emg came clean. but twitching and perceived weakness in left hand. should i worry?

: No rationale to consider ALS as the cause of your expressed symptoms.   If you have problems in the left hand exclusively and it was not tested, then, the EMG needs to be completed and examine the area of issue.  Get counseling to handle your worries.

Who is concerned ?: Are you concerned or your doctor? I really don't think based on what you've told me that there is any basilar artery issues -- if there is a problem there, symptoms include vertigo, double vision, and balance issues. Best to discuss with your doctor.

See your MD: There could be some nerve compression or compression of the spinal cord creating your weakness.  Anytime a patient experiences weakness, they need further evaluation right away.
Call your family md, let him evaluate you and order the proper tests.  He will refer you to a specialist if necessary.

Hand weakness : And tingling in small finger can be cubical tunnel  at the elbow but  the ulnar nerve can be compressed at the wrist or anywhere along its path   the neck can also be a site of nerve root irritation.   Watching elbow and hand position avoidant prolonged  of flexion we're resting elbows or forearm on the edge of the desk or armrest may help but if symptoms persist specially with weakness please seeon the edge of the desk or armrest may help but if symptoms persist specially with weakness please see healthcare provider

Actually, : Actually, it's a myth that carpal tunnel syndrome is pain, particularly pain with typing.  The hallmark symptom of carpal tunnel syndrome (cts) is numbness.  Numbness in the thumb, index, long and half of the ring finger.  The current best evidence is that cts is genetic (you we're going to get it no matter what you did) and--in my opinion--inevitably progressive. I warn my patients that surgery is necessary eventually to prevent numbness and weakness that it is permanent.  Luckily the disease is very slowly progressive, so you should have some time to sort this out.

i have had tingling in my left hand and weakness when grabbing or lifting something. no pain. but very unsettling. i have had some tingling the other hand but off and on and not as much. also some tingling in my left foot and some weakness. worried?

Tingling: Tingling is less of a concern when it happens on both sides of the body . Since you describe tingling AND weakness on the left side (both hand and foot),  you should have this evaluated by a neurologist at your convenience.
