GI dysfunction: Patients with CREST are prone for various GI problems.  One is esophageal dysfunction with difficulty swallowing (dysphagia) and/or heartburn (GERD).  Other patients may have slow stomach emptying or slow passage through the bowels.  Bacterial overgrowth may lead to diarrhea.  Discuss your Sx with your rheumatologist or GI specialist.

: Consider abdominal ultrasound  -  more sensitive for detection of gallstones; consider HIDA scan for ducts. Have you been checked for H pylori infection of the stomach as that can also cause pain . Would also check lipase / amylase/elastase ( pancreas ) . Would check cardiac function( as that can masquerade as GI pain)  and  the rare  possibility of  ischemic bowel / or splenic aneurysm f/u/w/MD

Get evaluation: You need more than the why, you need the treatment too. The sooner the better. Multiple reasons including cause being your gall bladder.

Try prilosec: Try a prilosec before bed or 30 minutes before your largest meal of the day. You can buy this at the drug store. It sounds like you are having reflux. If this does not take care of the problem, see your doctor. Also try to get to optimal weight, eat smaller meals, don't eat 3 hours before bedtime, avoid alcohol, tobacco and acidic foods.

No : And you would do well to switch to a more standardized formulation like synthroid (thyroxine) instead of using armour which is hit or miss.

: Is it true that you never ate ice cream before last Thursday? 
At your age, substernal pain as you described is less likely an cardiac pain in origin, especially it has been persistent. Cardiac pain is usually triggered with activity and it associates with shortness of breath and sweating.
GERD is more likely and you can do therapeutic diagnosis with Omeprazole / Prilosec / Nexium /Prevacid, OTC.

Heat and Motrin: Apply local heat and use Motrin for pain  The rib cage is made of muscle and is inflamed.

Nausea: 2 areas to look at are the stomach and gallbladder.  Fatty foods stimulate the gallbladder which can cause pain of nausea.  Gastritis can cause nausea after eating also but is related more to gastric distention.  Try a liquid antacid and see if this helps.  You may need a sonogram of the abdomen.
