Clean/ tetanus: Wash the wound well with warm water and soap. What is your tetanus status. If you don't know or it has been more than 10 years- than you need another tetanus shot.

Balanitis?: If you're having repeated episodes of balanitis (inflammation undert he foreskin, often but not always due to infection), being circumcised may help -- especially if you have a tight foreskin (phimosis). Or maybe just opening it up with minor surgery. Presumably you're seeting a urologist about this. If in doubt about his or her advice, get a second opinion with another urologist (in person).

Soak!: Depends a little on where the cut is--hands and face get worse quickly.  Wash the wound well, soak for about 20 min in clean warm water three or four times a day, and cover in between soaks, perhaps with some Bacitracin ointment.  If worse or not better in a day, see your doctor.  If there is any chance of a thorn or sliver in the wound, go now.

Lake water cut: Most likely you will be just fine.  There are organisms in lake water that could cause infection, however, if you are healthy and cleaned the wound, you should be just fine.  Do seek medical attention if you notice redness or swelling or a purulent discharge from the wound.

Not to worry: This area suffers minor trauma in many activities and infection is rare - usually requiring some systemic internal breakdown in the immune system.  Shaving of the pudendal area is common and breaks in the skin surface happens regularly without any infection resultant.

i'm just wondering, if you get cut open, but are impervious to infection or disease, could you still live?

Complicated question: Simply opening up the skin allows harmful things access to the sensitive deeper stuff.  Even with no infections or diseases, the mere exposure to air would dry things out and cause them not to function or function poorly due to dryness.  Plus, the deeper tissues would bulge out or hang out further compromising their blood supply and function.  Keeping things inside, safe and warm is a better idea.

Cuts : If your cuts are red and warm, please wash them with soap and water then apply a topical antibiotic ointment to the areas if they don't improve, you may need an oral antibiotic. Please visit your family physician for an antibiotic if the cuts don't feel better.
