i take melodic an and hydroxyxine. i had a uds that showed negative for all benzo's, but end result said positive for oxazepam 200ng/ml. i don't take benzo's. i do take a lot of nsaids. why would this happen?

: Because you ask the question so I trust you did not take oxazepam, especially urine drug test is negative for benzo. Assume you took oxazepam, this drug is completely inactivated by liver enzymes and only are the inactive metabolites excreted in the urine, not oxazepam by itself. You should direct your question to the lab pathologist.

Depends: Some people get side effects at low dosages because theyt are sensitive.  Others need higher doses.  It usually is trial and error to see which dose will cause dise effects in people and people have different sensitivities to different side effects like nausea vs sedation.

20 tablets?: That sounds like a huge dose. That means the patient should be working with 1 primary care doctor and 1 psychiatrist... with only 1 doctor prescribing any and all drugs with addiction or abuse potential. The drug probably stays around for several days when using normal doses, and likely longer for huge doses. Bad things happen if the drug is suddenly stopped. A urine test should be an honest one.

Similarities: Hi. Both of this benzo's have a similar half-life, although alprazolam hits faster. You probably don't need to take BOTH since they have the same mechanism of action and duration of action. Talk with the prescribing doctor about this, and whether he/she thinks you need BOTH. Depends on dose: Unfortunately, without knowing the dose of each - it's impossible to say.  However, both temazepam and oxazepam have decent half lives (roughly 8 hours) - so short interval dosing shouldn't be needed at therapeutic doses.  Wish there was a better answer - Hope that helps!

No: Oxazepam is a metabolite of Valium but not xanax (alprazolam). It is a drug prescribed itself. Like Nexium (esomeprazole) is a metabolite of Prilosec (omeprazole).
