? trust issue ?: You imply that you expect us to lie. Nice opening. Some forms of birth control do not prevent ovulation.Condoms, IUD's, foam, morning after pills, etc. will not prevent ovulation but interfere with pregnancy in other ways.Some are hormones that trick the body into thinking it is pregnant ( you don't ovulate during pregnancy). Accept the info if you wish, or believe your gossipy friends.

Not sure your ?: Topamax (topiramate) can lower the effectiveness of some contraceptives particularly the ones that suppress ovulation. You need to discuss your concerns with your doctor. A second form of contraception is recommended while on topamax (topiramate) and some oral contraceptives to reduce the chance for pregnency

Hormones: When you take the last pills in the monthly pack they do not contain the same amount of hormone that the others do and therefore your body responds to it by shedding the endometrium. You are not ovulating, but you are still building up and shedding the endometrium based on the hormones (progesterone and estrogen) changing as dictated by the pills.

Brain suppression: The hypothalamus is suppressed by the use of the oral contraceptive pill to prevent ovulation. Stress can further suppress  the hypothalamus as well. The most likely cause of the absent period is minimal endometrial tissue which is common on the pill and therefore doesn't shed at the time of the due period.

ovulating in right ovary. sonographer told me.  i switched  frm sprintec to natazia (estradiol valerate and dienogest). why am i ovulating? ur not supposed to ovulate on birth control.

Misspoke: The sonographer was probably commenting on the presence of a cyst as on cannot really see ovulation on ultrasound.  Cyst are common and not necessarily a problem.  Discuss this with your doctor who has more training and likely better information than the sonographer.

Probably not: Related to your exercise.  If you are on the pill and take it regularly then it's not uncommon to have a very light cycle. It may only be spotting.  Unprotected sex usually refers to the total lack of birth control. If you prefer condoms which is highly recommended for new partners or incidental sex.. then std is more of a concern.  Get a pregnancy test if your menstrual cycle does not come in 5 d
