Listen to your body: Eat 6 equal healthy meals, relax and breathe, and move for 10 minutes after each meal rather than workouts. Monitor vaginal mucous and when mucous strings from thumb to forefinger have intercourse.  Avoid Claritin (loratadine) and take vit C with bioflavanoids and avoid dairy, wheat, and sugar to lower allergy symptoms.

Yes, but: Yes, I don't see any reason not to try, but if you are 53 as you say, your chances are not great. You might want to talk to your OB/GYN and get preconception counseling regarding the risks of pregnancy at that age.

PCOD: Your body description could be Polycystic Ovarian Disorder. Usually assoc with weight - especially in abdomen - male like hair distribution and irregular periods. The skin of the ovaries is too thick so the body generates more testosterone (yep even in gals!) to help try to push them out. A lot of PCOD patients have problems with infertility and irregular periods. See your Gynecologist and discuss

You could: Typically we don't consider failure to conceive until at least 12 months of trying, so there is probably not a lot that your OB would be able to do at this point.  Keep trying for at least another 6 months or so before you consider reaching out to your OB.

Probably not: Only is there is an anatomic problem with penetration. After that it's all downhill and your body does the rest of the heavy lifting.

OPKs: start taking prenatal vitamins before you conceive and you can use OPKs (ovulation prediction kits) to assist with timing of intercourse.

Search this site: There is a lot of information on this site on Trying to Conceive.  Do a search and you will find a great deal of information.  Get a good history, physical and PAP smear, and be sure you don't have any std's and any appropriate  lab tests before you try to conceive to make sure you are in good health. If you have not conceived after one year of trying, please see a fertility specialist.

Yes: Focus sex around the 14th day of your period starting from the first day of a period. Don't worry about it. The more you want to conceive, the harder it is. Just enjoy the sex.
